If
you don’t know me you will quickly find out that making decisions are NOT my
strong suit. I’m always the last to order at a restaurant and selecting outfits
continues to be a difficult task. I am constantly texting my best friend for shoe
opinions and despite all this, my parents somehow thought that choosing a
college would be an easy task! HA!
It
was so bad that my parents finally had to set a deadline for me. I was given
until last Friday night to decide what college I would attend for the next four
years of my life. It was an overwhelming thought then frankly, it still is.
After all, this decision would dictate what color I would have to sport for the
next 1,460 days.
I
was quite proud of myself that I had narrowed it down to 2. After all, my
decision dilemma led me to apply to 12 schools, out of complete inability to
make a choice. I know it’s a bit ridiculous. My heart was completely cut in
half. The funny thing is , if you would have asked me junior year what school I
was going to, neither of these schools would have been in my top three.
My
short list contained 2 completely amazing schools, but at the same time two completely
different schools. I mean seriously you couldn’t get more different! They are on
opposite ends of the spectrum in just about everything
Typical
Shannon strategy, I made a pro/con list.
When I thought about it in depth, I knew that in reality I really could
be happy at either of these places, and that’s why I was so torn. Both schools
offered different things that I knew could fit my personality.
It
really came down to where I thought I would be most comfortable. And therefore
because of this, Friday morning I walked down our stairs proudly sporting my
FURMAN UNIVERSITY PURPLE. FU has taken
on a whole new meaning in our house!
We
put down the deposit and everything is set. in stone. I’m so excited to be
apart of the Furman family next year! It’s definitely going to be a huge change
but I’m ready to dive in!
This picture is from Accepted Students Day at
Furman where I got to meet Dorothy who blogs at Prep In Your Step! I'm and so excited to be future classmates together!
FU!
Remember,
Cheers!
