Like I mentioned in
my NYC reflection one of things on my city to-do list was to go thrift shopping
in the Upper East Side! I have a love for vintage, original, pieces that no one
else has, so I thought that I could find some really cool one-of-a-kind pieces
there!
I ended up going a
bit crazy, I couldn’t help myself, the prices were so good! I practically spent
my whole vacation budget on the dresses I found in these shops. My aunt, a native
New Yorker, knew exactly which shops to take me to and relayed to me what shops
were known for what.
Bread addicted
Shannon, I got 3 mini baguettes before we started and ate them throughout the
morning while shopping. It's fun to wander around the Upper East Side
admiring vintage pieces (while eating bread of course) and pretending you’re a
local. It may not be the typical touristy thing to do, but it’s definitely going
to be something to add to my list to do every trip up!
Luckily, like I
mentioned my aunt has lived in New York almost her entire adult life so she
knew exactly what shops would have the best finds. I was able to find a number
of Lilly and Vineyard Vines dresses at great prices. You can see in the picture
the 4 dresses I got (from the left: Lilly Pulitzer, Lilly Pulitzer, Milly, C.
Wonder). They are all simple shift dresses and will be perfect for class and
causal summer days! These are the shops that we had the most luck with!
So here's the inside scoop! I hope you get as lucky as me with your finds!
Let me also tell you,
I found the most perfect Louis Vuitton purse that was a little worn, however it
was still in great condition for a great price. I couldn’t convince myself to spend more money, however let me tell you, I still dream about it.
Have you ever found any treasures thrifting?
Remember,
xoxo
Shannon
I'm so jealous! I always have terrible thrifting luck. Glad you made out so well!
