One pieces are cool too...

Like every other girl in America, I hate bathing suits. I feel uncomfortable and self-conscious the second I slip one on. This summer my family has been spending practically every weeknight out on the lake and I have (by some miracle) learned to wakeboard and wake surf. It’s safe to say, I’ve had more than one accident where I’m struggling to put my bathing suit back in the right place.

I remember when I was little, I went through a phase where I was completely against bikinis. I would only wear tankinis, usually from The Gap. When I realized I was the only one of my friends who wasn’t wearing a bikini, I decided to make the switch. Now, I’m ready to go back!

I have a bigger chest and a smaller waist so I’ve always had the worst time with bathing suits. The past few seasons I’ve stuck mostly with Target bathing suit separates. I have declared a change and decided to add a few more one piece bathing suits to my collection because they’re cool too (not to mention more flattering, and stay in place better).

I think one pieces can be just as cute (if not cuter!) than an bikini. They can be super retro and high fashion! So who’s with me? Let’s bring them back!

I'm ready to buy all of them!

What are your thoughts on one pieces?

  1. Hey Shannon! I did a post similar to this a few weeks ago, andI'm totally with you on the one-piece/two-piece dilemma! Here are a few more options that I found on Polyvore!

  2. I prefer to wear tankinis or one pieces just because I feel more comfortable, they stay in place better, and I feel like they look better on my body type. I hate how so many girls feel like they have to wear bikinis to fit in, especially when some of them would probably look better or be more confident in a suit that covered more skin.

  3. I absolutely LOVE this post!! & I couldn't agree more!! haha I've also been wakeboarding at the lake and made a switch to a one piece for water sports (to my sister's dismay of course!) but I'm a fan!

The one pieces you picked out are great, I would totally wear them :)

  4. These are all adorable! I've started the switch to one-pieces last summer, and have hardly looked back. I wore a bikini for one day on the beach a few weeks ago and my poor tummy was so burnt after!

  5. I always have such a hard time finding one pieces that fit! I'm very petite so the one pieces are always too long on me! But, I have found a peplum tankini that is absolutely to die for! I haven't been able to find it in stores but as soon as I do I'm snatching it up! Until then I guess it's bikinis for me.

  6. One pieces are great. I wear them with shorts to go to the beach in
