I’m not sure how
other school’s work, but at Furman they ensure that by the end of the 4
years you are basically a PRO at interviews. Something I didn’t know coming
into college was how many things require an interview. At first I was not
thrilled about the whole idea, but I have come to conclusion that it will end
up helping me in the long run. It will allow me to go out into the real
world confident in my interview skills and give me a leg up on the competition.
One of the most
draining (but fulfilling) interview processes was the interview process to
become a campus ambassador. We had 3 rounds of interviews (group, rotation, and
individuals). We were bombarded with questions in every round and in the 2nd
round they were questioning our response time. Stressful right?
I’ve had interviews
for numerous other things at Furman; some I did get, and some I didn’t. But one of the best tips I think you
can learn is to try your best no matter what, however, accept the fact that you
can’t get everything.
There are a lot of
things you can’t control in interviews: (I think that’s what scares people the
most) the questions they’re going to ask, the mood the interviewer is in, the
amount of other people who are going to apply, but one thing you can control is
your confidence! I’ve mentioned before that part of the reason that I love
clothes so much is because of the confidence they instill in me. When you have
the kind of confidence that radiates off of you, you are automatically more
attractive to the potential employer in comparison to someone who has no
confidence!
This outfit gives me
confidence and is professional with a flair. I think it’s important to look
presentable, but also to show your sense of style and your personality
through your outfit. I’ve worn this particular outfit to a few
interviews and I’m happy to announce it’s brought nothing but
luck!
What would make up your perfect interview outfit?
Good luck!
