Roommate Christmas Cards!

Picking roommates, especially your freshman year can be super stressful. It’s nerve racking to live with someone you have never even met before! Furman does it a little differently. As an incoming freshman, you take a long quiz asking about all your living and social habits and then Furman hand matches you with another freshman. It’s kind of like online dating, but for a roommate.

I got insanely lucky with my roommate. I honestly count my blessings that she’s in my life everyday. We’re extremely different (in a good way!!) so we balance each other out perfectly. We both ended up in the same sorority by chance and so of course we decided to room together again this year. Most nights we end up hysterical laughing on the ground or having wicked dance parties at 1 o’clock in the morning.

My family has made a Christmas card for as long as I can remember. We have this Christmas wall hanger made for Christmas cards and one of my favorite things to do is to read all the cards we receive from all of our family and friends from around the world. Coming from a military family, all of our friends are constantly moving so Christmas cards are one way to keep up with everyone.

Last year Emilee and I sent out Christmas cards to our parents and other family, and this year we decided to keep the tradition alive! This year we ordered our cards from Treat and they came in a matter of days! We mailed them out in-between exams one day and then slipped them under the doors to our hallmates. Tons of the roommate pairs on our hall also joined in on the fun and also passed out cute Christmas cards with pictures of them and their roommate throughout the semester!

This is the picture Em and I chose to use:

How they turned out:

On the back, we added: "feel free to send us care packages at any time :)"

They turned out better than we ever would have imagined and I have a feeling we’re going to be keeping up the tradition next year. Treat had literally hundreds of templates to choose from and they got the cards to us in 3 days! It's a super fun tradition that all roommates could do super easily!

Did anyone else send out roomie Christmas cards?!

Remember,

xoxo

Shannon
