What I wore for rush

As you probably saw in this post, (or insta, or twitter) my bid day was on Sunday! I’m officially a DELTA DELTA DELTA. I am so lucky to join an amazing sisterhood of girls who I know will inspire me daily.

I am thrilled with the outcome, however the process to get to bid day was extremely stressful. I’m not one for loud rooms or small talk, so it was a pretty overwhelming process for me.  Now that I’m done however, I totally understand why they use the system they do.

The hardest part was seeing my friends upset and crying because they didn’t get invited back to the sorority they wanted or didn’t get the bid they wanted. The whole process was a lot more emotional than I thought. Despite that being said, I am 100% confident that everyone ended up where they belong. The system really does work and now that we have all settled into our new Sororities, the benefits are beyond explanation! An instant sisterhood can impact your college experience in ways I am just now discovering!

I tried to plan my outfits before coming back to school to take some of the stress away. It’s so hard with winter Rush because you can’t just throw on a cute summer dress! It was pretty cold both weekends, and we had to walk outside a lot, so I always wore a thick peacoat and then took it off right before my round!

I tried to wear things that showed my personality but also made a  statement! Yet, it was equally important to include classic pieces that would be comfortable all day. I got a few emails asking me what I was wearing each day for rush so I thought I would make a post out of it!

Scarf | Jeans | Flats (similar)

Day 1: We all had to wear our recruitment t-shirt so I tried to make myself stand out with my Lilly scarf!

Day 2: This day was pretty casual so I went with my Lilly elsa top!

Day 3: Absolutely obsessed with this Tuckernuck dress!

Day 4: Pref Teas!

What did you wear for rush?

Imagine Christmas morning but 10X the excitement and taking place on the 26th of January. As you probably saw if you follow me on Instagram or twitter, SUNDAY WAS BID DAY! I could barely sleep Saturday night due to the sheer excitement. I woke up anxious and nervous to discover where my home would be for the next 3 ½ years!

To be honest, the whole process of rush was a bit crazy, overwhelming, exciting, emotional, scary, intimidating; basically any and every emotion under the sun. We started the weekend we got back to school, and it’s been a whirlwind of activities ever since.

We got assigned a time on Sunday afternoon to come over and open our bids. Walking over, I swear my heart was going to beat out of my chest. But I am so happy to announce that I am now a

I was beyond happy when I opened my bid and I am so excited to be a part of a sisterhood that has  shown me so much love already. I have the best pledge class on earth (no like seriously y’all) and I cannot wait to get to know all my new sisters even better.

I woke up on Sunday morning having two little brothers, but it was an amazing feeling to wake up Monday with over a hundred new sisters (ahhhh!).

Here’s a little glimpse into bid day (aka Christmas in January)!

So excited to see what this sisterhood holds for me!

Tell me your bid day story in the comments!

P.S. Did you know one of Tridelta's symbols is the pearl? Too perfect.

Makeup Routine

I am probably the farthest thing from a makeup guru. I will be the first to admit I know absolutely nothing about makeup. I have done the same thing since 8th grade.  I was taught how to apply makeup by the Clinque ladies in the mall.  Okay, maybe I have changed a few small things, I know longer wear pink eye shadow daily and I’m not obsessed with sparkly lip gloss any more. But, nonetheless, the rest has remained the same. Clearly I am a creature of habit.

I have gotten multiple emails and comments wanting me to do a post about my daily makeup routine. I like to keep my makeup simple, natural, and basic. I don’t have a ton of time in the mornings (I enjoy sleeping way too much) so I am usually rushing to put any makeup on at all. This however, is what I end up applying daily. Simple, easy, quick.

When you see my daily routine, you’ll realize it’s far from glamorous. To be completely honest, I never know what I’m doing with makeup. I wake up every morning wishing I had someone to come in and do my makeup for me. So don’t take this as something that is going to work for everyone, because honestly I don’t even know if it works for me!

My mom has used clinque her whole life, so when I was allowed to wear makeup in 8th grade that’s what I was introduced to. I love all their products, especially their foundation. I wear the lightest color (if you haven’t noticed already I am very pale year round) and the fact that it has SPF 15 in it, is a huge added bonus. I definitely need that. I have come to embrace my fair complexion!

Foundation (Linen) | Eyeliner (Roast Coffee)  | Blush (Pink Blush) | Mascara (Dark Chocolate)

These are the products I use on a daily basis. My mom always claims that it looks kind of harsh with just the eye liner, but I try my best to do it pretty light and smear it into my lash line.

I don’t go out very much, but whether it’s for a special occasion, or just a nice dinner it’s nice to have something you can quickly add to your daily routine to just take it up a notch. Over Christmas break I was in Nordstrom restocking on my daily products, and I was introduced to these three things! The chubby sticks are so easy to use for makeup dummies like me.

Eyeshadow 1 (Fuller Fudge) | Eyeshadow 2 (Bountiful Beige)  | Lip Color (Mighty Mimosa)

If you have any tips for me, bring them on. But for now, I’m pretty content with my Clinque products  (even if I do the same thing every day!)

What’s your daily makeup routine??
