I started my internship this week! To be exact, I started on Tuesday. My Furman class and Italian adventure ended on Sunday and I jetted off to Paris. I had all day Monday to unpack in my tiny little dorm and catch up on sleep and then I started first thing Tuesday morning! It's been quite the whirlwind...
The first day is always nerve-racking. You don’t know what the office atmosphere is going to be like, you don’t know how everyone dresses, and you have no idea what kind of things they could make you do.
If you walk in with your shoulders back, confident, and your head held high (with an outfit that makes you feel great!) you’ll be more than ready to conquer the world.
I’m interning in a fashion-based company in the branding section doing some social and digital media work. I was super worried about looking “fashionable” enough while fitting in with the Parisian style.
So I pick what I thought was a great first day outfit that would fit in with the French culture while being formal enough to fit if the dress code was super formal or casual enough if everyone wore jeans.
Truth be told I actually wore a Lilly Pulitzer White Elsa top with gold buttons but it doesn't look like they carry it in white anymore! The style in France is really simplistic and classic so I thought this was the perfect mix!
What would you wear on the first day of your internship?
