Well we made it to Italy.
After an extremely long (and exhausting) journey we finally made it.
We boarded the plane Sunday afternoon in Charlotte and connected in Philly and then finally boarded our plane to Venice a few hours later! We arrived in Venice in the wee hours of the morning on Monday and then had to camp out on the airport floor for 5 hours until the bus came to pick everyone in my program up!
My campus is about an hour outside of Venice in the northern mountains of Italy! I have a gorgeous view out my window and started my classes today! So the last 3 days have been quite the rush of exhaustion and excitement.
My view out of my dorm window! Does it get much better than that!
I always struggle with change and I’ve never been a fan of beginnings. I am a sucker for schedules and routines and I’m anxious to fall into one in the next few weeks. It takes time to get to know new surroundings and figure out how everything works at a new school (especially in a different country!!). I’m feeling like a freshman all over again as I make new friends and try to master a new campus.
An adorable house in new little Italian village!
Just a little update from Italy! I have more exciting blog posts scheduled for the upcoming weeks but be sure to follow me on snapchat (shannon.hessen) and instagram to keep up with my European adventure!
