Kate Spade Fitness Trackers

Kate Spade Fitness Trackers

I hope everyone had a very Merry magical Christmas!

I spent Christmas at home with my family and my grandparents drove down Michigan too! It was pretty low key but it was great to have some down time since I head back to school just next week (I have to go back early for recruitment). My big Christmas present this year was tickets to the Orange bowl with Emory! I fly out tomorrow (Thursday!) to West Palm and come home Sunday. Michigan (my favorite team) is playing Emory's team (FSU) in Miami on Friday. We were so excited when we saw this match and I'm so excited we'll get to be there in person!

I was looking through the Kate Spade website the other day and stumbled across these new fitness trackers. I have been thinking about a Fitbit or an Apple Watch forever but I'm always torn because I wear my gold kate spade watch every day. BUTTTT once again Kate Spade saves the day and made adorable and pretty fitness trackers. Pretty and useful....I'm all in.

If anyone has one of the Kate Spade Fitbit trackers (or an apple watch) let me know your opinions! I'm so torn if I want one of them!!

FriYAY + Last Minute Gifts

FriYAY + Last Minute Gifts

IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE EVE!!!!! I hope everyone is as excited as me. If you're looking for a Christmas movie to watch today, today would be the perfect day to watch Eloise at Christmastime. One of my all time favorites.

My grandparents are coming today from Michigan so we'll be doing some last minute Christmas prep like cooking and baking! I have come up with a great list of some last minute gifts that you really don't need to leave the couch for! If you're in a pickle and have no idea what to buy someone hopefully this will inspire you.

What are your favorite last minute gifts? Comment so we can add them to the list!

For your mom:

Moms are some of the most deserving people out there! Plus who wouldn’t want a gift certificate to get their nails, toes and  facial done?!

My mom and I both love musicals! We have a few really great theaters in the Raleigh area that get great productions too! For Christmas, I got my mom (*stop reading here mom*) tickets for us to go see the musical Wicked! I bought them through Ticketmaster, so look and see what’s coming to your area!

3. Framed Photos
This is always my go to gift for anyone. I love pictures and I have so many framed throughout my dorm room. You can easily get your favorite picture of you and your mom printed online and most of the time Walgreens will have it printed in a matter of hours! You can also get posters and other cool products printed too!
P.S. Target always has cute affordable frames!

4. Cooking Class

I am dying to one day to take a cooking or baking class! I could really use a few lessons...lol. Instead of just buying your mom a class get two tickets so you can join her! Nothing better than some qaulity fun time!!

For your dad:

1. Sporting Event Tickets
Is your dad super obsessed with a certain sports team? Use a site like Ticketmaster to buy him tickets to a game!

2. Concert Tickets
My dad loves music, way more than sports! So a few years ago my family got him tickets to go see his favorite band U2. The expression on his face when he read the tickets was priceless! Check out Ticketmaster for great concert options too!

3. Dollar Shave Club

Okay I totally think this is the coolest thing ever. This is a California-based company that delivers razors and grooming products straight to your house!

For your sister:

1. Buy a magazine subscription
I have a few magazine subscriptions that I've gotten as gifts and I love all of them. I typically pick up my mail and by the time I get back to my dorm room, I’ve already finished going through the entire magazine! But let’s be real, who  doesn't love getting mail?! Here are a few links to my favorites:

Vogue | Marie Claire | Teen Vogue | Seventeen | Magnolia (Chip & JoAnna's Magazine!) |
| Southern Living

2. Monthly Beauty Subscription

Because who wouldn't want to get a few new nail polishes every month?!

Julep | Ipsy | BirchBox

3. Darby Smart

Monthly and Bi-Monthly craft and DIY subscription! This would be perfect if you had a younger who was super into doing crafts (totally me as a younger girl).

For your bother:

My brother loves our Netflix subscription. It’s fun to be able to go back and watch episodes of your favorite T.V. shows at any time and plus they have great movies options as well! Also perfect for any college student!

Does your brother love music? If so, it’s the perfect gift! I use Pandora almost every day when I’m at school doing my homework and the commercials get so annoying (and I always) run out of skips. With a subscription you don’t have to worry about those 30 second commercials!
For the entire family:
1.     Buy an experience on GroupOn!
My family has always loved doing adventurous things together. We've gone Zip lining multiple times, white water rafting (oh you should have seen the laughs we got out of this one), we've been on Segway tours! All of these things are great options and so much fun to do together. The memories you make will be priceless! Way better than anything you could buy in a store.
For someone special:
Secretly I’ve always wanted to do this. It’s surprisingly super affordable and who wouldn’t want to get a star named in their honor?!
I hope this gives you some ideas! Sometimes it’s the things you can’t buy in a store that make for the greatest gifts! So don’t panic if you haven’t bought anything yet. Plus remember, if you really want to surprise someone usually local animal shelters are open on Christmas eve, and who wouldn’t want to open a cute little puppy or kitten on Christmas morning?! Just another idea ;)

Something Fun

1. Lottery Ticket

Help someone win the jack pot! Sometimes Santa will put Lottery tickets in our stockings and they're so much fun to scratch off every year! Last year I won $5!
Wishing everyone has a great holiday season!

Christmas in Apex

Christmas in Apex

It feels so good to be back at home for Christmas. For some reason, the constant chaos that's inevitable in my house is in some ways comforting. I always miss having time to do things I love when I'm at school and I love coming home for breaks like Christmas and Summer because I feel like I can finally spend time on those things (since ya know, no homework and all).

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not a chef, in any way shape or form. I burnt easy mac when I was younger if that tells you anything about my cooking skills. I live in an apartment this year and despite having a full-size kitchen, I still go to the dining hall for just about every meal. With the exception of my breakfast, I make an eggo waffle every morning without fail and usually eat it on my way to class. #Healthy

Despite my not so pretty past with cooking, I have always loved baking with my mom (still need her expertise). I like the exact measurements and all the details. Plus I love the sweet scent that baking fills the house with. As graduation approaches and the real world on the horizon, I really want to become a better baker. I'm hoping that will be easier when I don't have all the extracurriculars and a heavy class load.

Anyways......I'm done babbling now. Long story short, it's been great being home and see the town all decorated for the holidays. My mom and I went downtown Apex a bit to explore and admire all the Christmas decorations. I love Apex and all it's cute small time charm. It's even cuter at night when Main street is all lit up!

Happy happy Friday!

The first part of the week was an absolute whirlwind finishing exams and all. I had my hardest two exams on Tuesday and Wednesday so up until Wednesday I pretty much spending all my time studying. I walked out of my exam Wednesday, over the moon excited to have all my finals done, went back and literally threw stuff in the car (I realized when I was about an hour into my trip I forgot socks....) and hit the road!

It's nice to finally be home and catch up on sleep! My best friend Danee is flying in later tonight to spend a few days here in the Carolinas! I'm so excited to have her here for a few days and I can't wait to spend time with her.

Now for what's on my radar this week....

I'm OBSESSED with the new Kate Spade Spring looks. Really eyeing that dress in look 8....

These earrings...enough said.

Need a last minute gift idea for a friend? I love this jewelry tray

Thinking I need this top, thoughts??

Love love love this cute newlywed home tour. Hoping my house will look like this one day!

I desperately want a big labradoodle one day and I died when I saw this on facebook.

Happy happy holidays!!

Where I've Been

Where I've Been

I believe that since the first day of kindergarten school has really ruled my life.

For as long as I can remember, I've prioritized school over most everything (obviously with some exceptions ie. family). From the first day of the school year in August to the last day of school in May, school dictates most of my life. It's a part of me that I've struggled to work on my whole life.

I vividly remember being physically terrified about forgetting my homework all the way back to early elementary school. I would make my mom park the car and walk me all the way to my classroom (through 4th grade may I add) and then while she made small talk with my teacher every morning (per my instruction), I would quickly run into the classroom, unpack my backpack, and make sure I didn't forget anything. This was even after I had packed my backpack the night before and rechecked again that morning before leaving. Excessive? Absolutely. But it's always the way I've been.

Although it may not seem like it through my blog, I have gotten surprisingly better especially in the past year or two. I am in by no means relaxed about school suddenly, buttttt I am way better at controlling my stress now in certain situations. I allow myself to go out to dinner with friends and taking a two-hour study break.

Living at school when I moved to college was a big adjustment in the beginning. It was hard for me to separate school from personal time when I was living school. I almost felt guilty if I was just hanging out in my room doing nothing because I could be getting ahead or studying (I'm still guilty of this today).

So how does all this relate to my blog? Well it explains the lack of posting and consistency. Hence, why I'm so much more active on my blog during the summer months when I don't have school work to get in the way!

With my last semester of college (at least as an undergrad!) quickly quickly approaching (OMG PLZ STOP THE TIME), I'm really going to try to prioritize my time better and allow myself time to spend  on things I love (things like blogging!).

Plus I will be turning over my big leadership position as Panhellenic president right after recruitment in January so I'll suddenly gain back a lot more free time!

So I hope that briefly explains where I've been and what I've been spending my time on in the past few months. But outside of the library and panhellenic meeting, here are some other highlights from the semester that didn't make it on the blog :)

The Carnival // Every year Furman puts on a little carnival to welcome the new freshman the night before school starts! I'm lucky to have a guy who will always tote me around :)

The first function of the semester!

My roommates and I went apple picking to celebrate the start of Fall! Too bad it was in the 90s and we were pouring sweat and ready to leave the moment we got there. At least we got yummy apple donuts out of it!

And then there was family weekend! I took my family up to one of my favorite lookouts (Bald Rock) which is only a short drive from Furman!

Heading to the family weekend tailgate before going to the football game!

Emilee, my roommate since freshman year turned 21 in October and we all had so much fun celebrating with her!

Halloween! Emory and I thought we were very clever and crafty with our costume this year ;)

And of course more tailgating!

Emory's homecoming function!

And my semi formal! The back of this dress was my favorite part!

With Christmas break quickly approaching, I promise there will be lots more posts coming in the near future!

One Last Beach Trip of the Season...

One Last Beach Trip of the Season...

A few weeks ago Emory and I headed down to one of my favorite places on earth, Hilton Head Island! It was kind of a spontaneous trip down as we didn't have anything else planned for the weekend and we figured we might as well take advantageous of this summer weather before the fall weather hits!

We got great weather and I got to show Emory all around my favorite island. We rode our bikes just about everywhere and spent a ton of time chillin on the beach (poor Emory got stung by a jellyfish!). I figured I'd wear this seersucker top while I had an excuse too and before it comes too fally to wear seersucker (I don't believe in no white/ seersucker after labor day when it's still 90 degrees here!). Plus my top is under $20!!!

It was such a nice, fun, and relaxing beach trip that was a much needed break from school work.

Just the Best Phone Case Ever

Just the Best Phone Case Ever

I usually pick a phone case and stick with it for a while. I'm not typically someone who constantly changes their case depending on the day. I really loved my old phone case (it was Kate Spade!) but when I discovered these new Jimmy Cases I was instantly in love! I saw that another blogger had talked about them before and I couldn't decide if I wanted to make the change. But when the Jimmy Case company reached out to me seemed like a sign!!

The past 3 years I have carried around a super small mini kate spade wallet that I attach my keys to as well as use it to hold my student ID card. However, I can't tell you the number of times I have called my mom sobbing because I can't find my student ID or in a sheer panic because I accidentally set it down somewhere. With this new case it holds my ID perfectly and this way I never have to worry about it falling out of my wallet (happened once) or randomly setting it down somewhere because I don't have my wallet with me.

The stretchy pocket on the back is super tight and ensures that nothing will fall out. I usually keep my student ID, a few dollars, and when I go out and don't wanna bring a full purse I'll stick my debit card in there too! So convenient for college students. My brother started his freshman year at College of Charleston this year and I even convinced him to order one!!

See all the colors here! Mine is grey and pink and my brother got the orange and blue one!

One of my favorite seasons is quickly approaching....FOOTBALL SEASON.

I am constantly looking for comfortable, light, summer dresses that can easily be paired with my boots for game days. While Furman's colors are purple and white, since I'm from the Raleigh area we have always frequented NC State games! This red dress from Julie Brown's new fall collection is the perfect weight for unbearably hot summer days but can also easily be paired with a jacket for cooler fall days that are hopefully around the corner. I love how versatile this dress is and I couldn't be happier with the fit!

Red isn't typically a color I would pick but I decided to step outside my pink and navy usual and go for something a little bit different! Plus every girl needs at least one bright red dress in their closet anyways, right?!

Julie Brown's new fall collection is irresistible. Every time I visit their website I find something new that I need! With fall and football season just around the corner, it's the perfect time to invest in a great new piece for fall or better yet game days!

Anyone else as excited for football games as I am?!

The Perfect Clutch

The Perfect Clutch

Between sorority and fraternity formals and functions I feel like I'm always searching for a dress for the next event. The one thing I never take into account when planning my formal and function outfits is CLUTCH. I always seem to remember the jewelry, shoes, and dress part but it always comes time for the event and I realize I own not one clutch that even remotely matches what I'm wearing.

Luckily it's great living in an apt with 3 other girls or even better living on the hall with 40 other girls who all own numerous clutches. Usually, I end up shopping through their closets and borrowing one at the last second and swear to myself that I'm going to buy a clutch or two to add to my collection. I also need to invest in a few great ones for after I graduate and won't be living within 5 feet of all my best friend's closets.

Toss Designs sent me this simple, but adorable clutch to style and obviously I was in love with the pink color block and little bamboo zipper pull. It's perfect because it matches a majority of my wardrobe (which is either navy or pink!). I brought it to my recent trip to Hilton Head to carry my phone and wallet essentials instead of lugging around my whole purse while walking around!

What's your favorite clutch you've ever bought?? Fill me in!!

FDOC! // My Favorite College Memories

FDOC! // My Favorite College Memories

My senior year officially starts today. Still wondering where time went. It truly feels like freshman year was just yesterday. I remember my first day of college classes, wondering if I'd ever be able to pass what seemed liked impossible classes, and if I'd ever learn my way around campus. I remember meeting my freshman year roommate for the first time (who has now turned into my roommate of four years!), my first homecoming, and my first college party.

And now I'm entering into my year of lasts. These last 3 years have gone faster than I ever imagined. It's so weird to me that we're now the oldest on campus and the same age as all those seniors I knew freshman year who just seemed so old.

In honor of my last year I thought it would highlight my favorite memory from every year! There have been way to many special memories, but I have to say these are some of my absolute favorites that I'll remember forever!

Freshman Year // Bid Day!

Bid Day freshman year was definitely the highlight of my first year at Furman. I was so excited to join a sorority and immediately fell in love with all the girls in my pledge class. I feel like we were such a cohesive diverse group of girls who all value the same thing and we got a long great from the beginning. It was a day of meeting so many new people and non-stop fun. It's funny to look back now  as Panhellenic President on this day and realize that this was just the beginning of my greek life experience.

Sophomore Year // My Birthday!

You only turn 20 once right?! So so so thankful for great friends who woke me up at 4:45 to cherish every second of my birthday and to take me to watch the sunrise. Definitely one of my favorite college memories! My now boyfriend Emory, even made a video of the whole thing!

Junior Year // Studying Abroad

One of my very best college friends and I studied abroad my first-semester junior year in Italy. We got to travel to a different place every weekend and it was a dream (Santorini was probably my favorite!). It was such a fun semester and one that I will definitely never forget.
