I flew
home from Italy December 5th. I was absolutely exhausted from a 10 hour flight
turned 14 hour flight when we had to sit on the plane for an extra 4 hours due
to a mechanical issue with the plane (comforting right? Especially when you’re
about to fly over the ocean!). It was a long way journey back with some
unexpected difficulties but it was all worth it to see my parents and brothers
at the airport waiting! My friend Emory and my little, Mary also surprised me
at the airport! No better way to be welcomed back to the states! (Kayla and I
also thought it would be funny to wear our matching comfy sweatshirts).
I spent a
few days at home relaxing, unpacking, getting into the Christmas spirit and
catching up with family before I headed to Furman for a few days! I really
wanted to see some of my friends before they left for Christmas break. I just
spent the weekend there since they were in the midst of exams but it was so fun
celebrating Christmas early with some of the people I missed the most!
My best
friend D came for almost an entire week! She flew in when she finished her
exams. She goes to school in California so we don’t get to see each other
usually more than twice a year so it’s always extra special when we get to see
each other. We met in 8th grade and nothing has changed since! I’m
so thankful to have her in my life and to be able to pick back up where we left
off every time we see each other! We also have numerous Christmas traditions together
that we got to do in person this year! (like watching Eloise at Christmas time,
taking a picture with Santa, and making Gingerbread houses!)
The rest
of Christmas I spent with lots of family! My grandparents came into town for
Christmas day and my cousins, aunt, and uncle were also in town. We played lots
games of heads up and watched lots of Christmas movies but all in all it was a
great Christmas break and I’m not sure if I’m ready to go back to the stress of
school!
I’m in a
little bit of a denial that it’s time to get back into the reality of school,
but looking forward into getting back into a schedule and being back at Furman
for the semester! I'm headed back to Furman tomorrow to move into my apartment and because Furman start rush a few days before school starts!
How was your Christmas break? Are you ready to go back to school?
Remember,

You look like you had the most fun winter break! I can't believe you were stuck on a plane for 14 hours! The longest I have been on a plane is about 10 hours...I was so so so bored. So bored and tired that there is no words to explain it! :)
ReplyDeleteI honestly can't believe how fast winter break has gone by for me. Tomorrow is the first day I'm supposed to be back at school but it snowed this morning so I am holding on to the hope that it is cancelled :)
