A look back at my favorite Lilly

Unless you completely avoided all forms of social media yesterday you probably are aware that yesterday was #nationalwearyourlillyday in celebration of the first day of summer. Everyone and their moms were Instagramming their favorite Lilly pieces to celebrate the beginning of the most looked forward to season of the year.

Not being on my blogging game, I am posting this post today, a day after #nationalwearyourlillyday. But let's be real, that day is most days for me so I feel like Lilly Pulitzer would forgive me for posting this a day late (and hopefully you will too).

One of my favorite things about southern fashion is the bright COLORS. I love that I can wear bright pinks and blues and yellows year round and be surrounded by people doing the same thing. Bright, fun colors totally put me in a better mood and instantly make me happier when I'm wearing them.

One of my least favorite things about the city life is (you guessed it!) the lack of COLOR. Everyone always seems to shy away from the bold, bright colors and most opt to go with neutrals. Clearly they need to take a few lessons from Lilly and understand that "anything is possible with a little sunshine and pink!"

Can I get an Amen?!

Anyways, I thought it would be fun to take a little trip down memory lane and look back at some of my favorite Lilly outfits!

In my books, you can never go wrong with a Lilly scarf. They add so much color to a simple outfit!

This picture was taken in Paris one day after work! I was exploring the streets of Paris with History in High Heels and we fell in love with the color of the door, so of course we had to have a little photoshoot. #ihaveathingwithdoors

Classic Lilly tunic.

My friend Kayla and I while studying abroad were determined to make it to Santorini. We flew in super late Friday night after classes and then we had to fly back out on Sunday morning in order to make it back to our campus in Italy in time for classes on Monday! So technically we only really got one full day on the island, but what a magical day (and place) it was! Probably my favorite place we traveled to all semester.

Two Piece Dress! (You can't see it in this picture but it is, I promise!)

As a pretty conservative dresser, this dress was a little out of my comfort zone. We were going to Emory's formal in Charleston so I knew I wanted a "casual but dressy" feel and I loved everything about this dress. I actually got super nervous while packing and couldn't decide if I actually wanted to wear it. I even packed an extra dress in case I changed my mind! However, I'm super happy I decided to wear it and it's one of my absolute favorite Lilly pieces!

Scalloped Skirt

Right when I saw this skirt pop up on the website last summer I knew I had to figure out a way to get it to me. Luckily, my mom was coming to Paris to visit me so I made her bring it to me when she came lol! Navy and scallops are kinda my thing so you can understand why I still love this skirt so much. Hands down one of my favorites.

Happy second day of summer everyone!

Remember,

xoxo

Shannon
