A Life Update

THE END IS IN SIGHT.

Graduation is now just 5 days away, I have 2 out of 3 finals done, and there is sun on the forecast for Saturday (I hope I'm not jinxing it) and I'm a happy happy camper.

I took a few days off from blogging last week so I could really focus on the two finals I had and to take in the last few days of my undergraduate career. Although I managed to fit in a fair amount of studying, I also managed to fit in a fair amount of fun. All about balance right?!

Tuesday was our last day of classes and it might have been one of my absolute favorite days ever. We have so many traditions but one that everyone looks forward to  isLDOC (last day of classes) your senior year. The seniors celebrate by spending the afternoon in the fountain outside the library. Everyone brings a floaty and there's usually music blasting. Although the water was a bit chillier than I imagined I spent the afternoon lounging on my flamingo floaty and taking pictures with friends to document the big moment.

After floating with friends all afternoon we headed over to the LDOC celebration on the lake to enjoy free food, balloon hats, rock climbing, face painting, and lots of bubbles (I swear we do study). Somehow I was convinced by friends that I should really celebrate by jumping into our lake. It's a tradition on your birthday to be thrown in at midnight but somehow I had managed to wiggle out of this tradition every year. I decided that I probably shouldn't graduate without being able to say that I've been in the lake, so I grabbed my loyal flamingo floaty and jumped in.

I almost immediately went back to my apartment to shower off because I felt so gross, but I think it was totally worth it in the end.

Later that night we had our senior champagne toast at our alumni house with the president of our university. After a few glasses of bubbly, we enjoyed a delicious dinner and senior superlatives were presented. I got voted "Strattiest Strat Girl" out of the whole senior class! I couldn't help but giggle. I even got a certificate to prove it.

Now for a little sneak peek....

Wednesday my apartment took the time to take some grad photos so we don't have to worry about it on the big day. Everyone's family is going to be here and we have a crazy busy day Saturday so I think it was a smart idea to take some before hand with our caps and gowns on.

Don't worry, there will be plenty of more grad photos from the big day next week. It's going to be a hectic week with graduation Saturday night and we have to be compltely out of our apartment by Sunday afternoon...yikes. If you have any extra prayers please say a prayer that it doesn't rain for us on Saturday! Our graduation and all the grad festivites are outside on campus and I'm just praying for a perfect spring day.

One more final stands between me and my dipolma!

Remember,

xoxo

Shannon
