Guest Post from Shan's BFF

Hello, all! Danee here. Or as Prep Avenue refers to me, D. As you all know, I am Shannon's dearest friend.

You know that phrase that somebody "knows me better than I know myself." Well that's me for Shannon (sorry Emory). I literally know Shannon better than she knows herself. I constantly get calls and texts from Shannon asking "have I seen this movie?" or "would I like this?" And I always answer.

Enough about what a great friend I am.

As you may know, Shannon and I met all the way back in 8th grade on a fateful day of gym class where my 5'9 self thought it'd be a good idea to hide behind 5'1 ("and a half") Shannon. I thought she was just so cool in 8th grade. She wore Abercrombie nearly every day and this girl knew how to rock a bow. So, I forced my friendship upon her and here we are 9 years later. I am currently sitting on the couch in her house where I invited myself with a days notice.

Any one out there remember picnik the photo editing website before all the iphone apps?! We were obsessed with the site.

I've been thinking about what I should write for my guest appearance on THE Prep Avenue. So, I'm really just winging it!

1) She eats jelly beans in two bites. TWO.
2) Her favorite movie is Father of the Bride: Part 2
3) She is unhealthily obsessed with TLC shows. Anytime I come over, it's a TLC marathon.
4) Also anytime I come over, she puts two body pillows in between us when we sleep. TWO. Should I be offended?
5) She doesn't have the best memory, but once she listens to a song once she has it completely memorized. Especially if it's Taylor Swift.

I could go on. You learn a lot about a person being friends with them for 9 years. Yet, I still learn new things about her. For instance, today I found out that she doesn't like tacos.

I know 9 years doesn't sounds like the longest time. But in the grand scheme of things, especially as military brats, it feels like a lifetime! Shannon has been there for me through it all. We went to college across the country from each other but I still called her on my way to class every day.

Everyone has a rock in life. Someone that helps keep you grounded in all the hustle and bustle in life. Mine is Shannon. I truly don't know what I would do without her friendship. And I know she would say the same if not better about me.
