Rainy Day Stripes

Rainy Day Stripes

I could totally pretend that it was a rainy, wet, day when we shot these photos but in reality it turned into a really sunny and super cold day. The truth is I had been wanting to shoot this outfit for forever so when I finally got the opportunity, I took it! So just pretend it was a rainy, sprint day!

I was with my friend Ashely, and after photos we went to brunch and I'm sure I got some pretty funny looks wearing rain boots and a rain jacket when it was in the low 40s and everyone else had on their winter jackets and gloves. #DoItForTheBlog

Spring is around the corner so I thought it would be fun to show a rainy day look. While I don't love the rain (unless I'm sleeping!) I do love it as an excuse to wear my favorite hunters and a rain coats.

I got this adorable striped raincoat last year after my mom finally telling me I could no longer wear my paint stained pink, 6 year old, North Face rain coat any more. I thought it would be a great investment and it's made by Barbour so I know it will last forever. Although I can't find it online anymore, I linked a few really adorable rain coats that I've had my eye on this year!

A Little Life Update

A Little Life Update

Whew, anyone else have a case of the Mondays? My alarm went off this morning and usually I'm pretty good at getting up right away but boy was I tempted to press snooze a few times (and I may have!).

A few little recent thoughts:

1. I've felt a little distant from blogging lately. My classes this quarter have kept me more than busy and although I have been posting (somewhat) regularly I haven't spent as much time writing posts as I would like. I work on school work from what feels like the moment I get out of bed to the moment I go to sleep and it's hard for me to choose blogging over getting ahead in a class. The past few weeks have been spent focusing a lot on school so I almost feel like I don't have anything too exciting to even talk about in my posts (my life looks so much more interesting on Instagram! ha!). On top of it all I'm taking an extra class from the normal graduate load. Which may be part of the reason I feel so consumed by school lately. It's safe to say I'm more than excited for spring break (aka a full week off) in March!!).

2. We've had a few really really nice weather days the past few weeks that make me so excited for Spring! Spring is by far my favorite season and I can't wait for the warmer weather to roll in and stick around for more than just a few days at a time. I get excited looking at the online new arrivals in stores and spotting pretty pastels and spring dresses.

3. Although school work takes up way more time than I'd like, I've spent some more time outside this quarter exploring Savannah. I love it more and more everyday. Downtown Savannah is just the cutest and I have a running list of places/ resturants on my phone I want to go to. So far my favorites I think are Collins Quarter and Little Duck Diner! Next on my list is: Clearys, Olde Pink House, Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room, and Top Deck. Please let me know any reccomenedations you have becuase I know my time here in Savannah (I graduate in November) is going to fly by and I want to make sure I try everything!

4. My friend came and spent the night with me a few weeks ago on her way back down to school and we went and saw The Greatest Showman. Both of us had heard great things so we went in with high expectations. And it's safe to say it blew all of our expectations out of the water. I spent way too long on YouTube yesterday watching behind the scenes videos and the soundtrack has been on repeat in my apartment. If you need something fun to do, treat yourself and go see it! Such a fun movie. Next on my list is: The Post!

5. My grandparents live in Michigan however they spend the Winter on Hilton Head Island which happens to be just 45 minutes from Savannah! It's so fun to have them so close and to be able to meet up for a quick meal together. Last week after needing a little break I drove over there, had a nice homemade dinner, and spent the night! They're the best.

6. Emory has a law school function coming up and I need help finding a dress! It's somewhat formal so I'm needing something affordable but still fancy enough. Comment or email me if you've seen anything lately that you love! I need help!

7. Okay this last update is a little silly but my friends and I have been super into playing battleship over text. It's so fun!!! When you go to your messages to the right of the little camera button is the  app store button. Download the game app, GamePigeon (which has so many fun games) and once you've downloaded you'll be able to play fun games (like battleship!) over text together.

FriYAY!

FriYAY!

Whew. This has been one heck of a week. I'm more than looking forward to the weekend for some free time and more importantly hopefully some time off homework. But really what I'm looking forward to is the warmer weather coming in the next few months. All these warm weather clothes in the new arrival sections are really giving me the itch for warmer weather! Luckily I live pretty far south so hopefully that warm weather will be sooner rather than later.

1. If you live in NYC or close by, please go to this event so I can live through you!
2. Speaking of Iris, did you know she has a book coming out in March? You can now preorder it!
3. I also really want to read this book!
4. Obsessed with the pictures from this post.
5. Anyways else love The Bold Type?! So excited for this announcement!
6. Did you know this awesome trick with Target?! So cool!
7. Anyone else obsessed with The Greatest Showman?! If so you need to watch these two videos (1 & 2)!
8. Obsessed with this shirt.
9. Have you seen this video of Justin Timberlake's new song?! It was shot in one continuous shot! So cool!!

Chanel Spring 2018 Couture Line

Chanel Spring 2018 Couture Line

Chanel's Spring Couture line....me oh my is it amazing.

I typically love everything Chanel however, this collection was exceptionally amazing. Maybe because of its abundance of pink? Or maybe because almost every piece had some sort of sparkle element. Either way I loved every bit of it.

As a fashion student who is constantly having to scour runway collections for class purposes this one truly stood out to me. I think a lot of people see these runway collections and say to themselves "but who would ever really wear that outrageous look in real life?"And that's a valid question! But these runway collections serve more as a piece of art. Many of the outfits don't even make it to retail. I think you have to remember when looking at a lot of runway collections that the show really serves as a piece of art and to make a statement.

Chanel's 2018 spring couture line is my kind of statement. I hope you all think it's just as fabulous as I do.

Savannah Winter

Savannah Winter

I'm obsessed with this little burst of spring weather. The last few days the temperatures have gotten into the 70s and I find myself wanting to pull out my spring dresses and skirts!!! And then I remember it's only January, ha!

My mom and I wandered into Kate Spade last week to check out the sale rack and I found this adorable cheetah print sweater. I was torn whether to pull the trigger but I couldn't help myself with that adorable little bow. I paired it with my favorite brown leather skirt (which is also on sale!!) and blush pink flats.

A Foggy Morning On Tybee

A Foggy Morning On Tybee

Last week was a bit rough for me. I'm still trying to figure out my classes and what each requires. I felt overwhelmed by my workload and despite writing "blog post" on my to-do list day after day I never got around to it, hence my lack of posts last week.

Unlike a lot of bigger bloggers that I admire, this is not my full-time job (and honestly don't think it ever will be). School is my first priority right now and although I try really really hard to get a blog post out there as often as possible, some days school just takes precedent and I find myself glancing up at the clock and it's past midnight with no blog post started.

This week though I'm going to try my best to prioritize things I love (like blogging!) as well as balancing my homework. We'll see how it goes!!

Anyways these photos are from a few weeks ago when my mom was in Savannah with me. I wanted to take her out to Tybee to show her the lighthouse and go for a little walk on the beach. As we were making the 30ish minute drive out there it just continually more foggy. It was almost comical. We finally got out there and you could barely see light house it was so foggy! You had to basically be standing at the base to be able to see it. The beach was completely empty and you could barley see the ocean!

Despite the fogginess, it was still fun to get out of the city and hang out at the beach! I've decided I need to frequent the beach more this semester, especially as the weather starts to get warmer. Anyways, this Vineyard Vines poncho is so cozy and I've been throwing it over so many outfits recently.

Pink & Pom Poms

Pink & Pom Poms

We got a small taste warm weather for a few days last week. It was glorious, 60 degrees and sunny. Now if only it would have stayed...

The cold weather is unfortunitely back and I've pulled back out the cold weather gear. This scarf is by far one of my favorite Christmas gifts and although I much prefer the warm weather, it is does make the cooler weather slightly more fun! Plus I'm all about the blush and brown combo.

Let me say, the cold weather does help with my focus though. It makes it a lot easier to be cooped up all day inside doing homework when you know you wouldn't want to be outside either.
