Another week done and I can't believe how close we are to May! It's so weird to see everyone's school year wrapping up as I still have another 5 weeks. School is busier than ever and it currently feels like it consumes every minute (and thought) of my life. More than ever I'm looking forward to May 31st (my last day!) and a little break from school. While I'm taking a class over the summer, I have some other really exciting plans that will make summer a great little break. I can't wait to share my summer plans soon but long story short I am living for June! Until then it's class, homework, group project meetings, and papers!

My birthday is on Monday though which is exciting! My 23rd on the 23rd!! My mom is driving down to celebrate with me and I can't wait to see her! I'm secretly hoping Kate will have her baby on my birthday...fingers crossed!

Swooning over this room...

On my radar...

1. This proposal, dying with cuteness.
2. Who else is shopping Gal Meets Glams dresses?!
3. I'm obsessed with scrolling through all the dresses from the Spring Bridal collections.
4. This Spring scarf is too cute.
5. I think I need these shoes for the Summer.
6. Obsessed with this family.
7. Super fun and cute DIY!

Heels and Wedges for Spring

Heels and Wedges for Spring

I'm really a total flat girl. Despite the fact that I'm only 5'1 I would much rather a throw on a pair of comfortable, cute flats. But with just about everyone taller than me, and a boyfriend who is 6'5, sometimes wedges/ heels are fun to wear for special events.

Whether you have a formal, prom, or wedding coming up all of these shoes are great options! I have a wedding in June and I'm currently on the hunt for a cute pair of either wedges or heels that I'll be able to dance all night in without ending up with blisters all over my foot. If you have any suggestions for comfortable heels or wedges I would love to hear your recommendations!  I stumbled upon all of these on my hunt and I wish I had a reason to purchase all nine of them! So instead, I thought I would share them with all of you :)

Reviewing Recent Purchases

Reviewing Recent Purchases

Spring gets here and I immediately want to buy every sundress on the market.

Okay, not really but I do get overly excited about the impending weather. Spring is by far my favorite season and I can't help myself. I need to live someplace that's warm year round becuase my Spring/ Summer wardrobe is significantly more exciting than my winter wardrobe. I could live in dresses if I didn't get cold so easily.

I thought it would be fun to just talk about some of the recent things I purchased!

Shop | $72

1. I thought this romper would be great for summer nights or a nice dinner. When I bought it I thought that I would be able to tie the tie in a bow but it's too short to make a full bow. However, I liked it way more than I expected. I'm not totally a romper girl, and would much prefer a dress, but I really do like how this fits and can't wait to wear it this summer.

Shop | $35

2. Beucase it get's so hot down here, I tend to buy a fair amount of easy sundresses every year that I can just throw on and still look presentable. I was super excited about this cute eyelet dress thinking it would be a great summer staple but it's totally see through. I guess I should have expected that for only $35 dollars but I had higher hopes! It's still super cute and would be perfect as a beach cover up or if you wore a slip underneath.

Shop | $17.99

3. I think are the winner out of all my recent purchases. I had admired someone's rattan/ wicker looking loafters on instagram and then saw the price tag...over $200. I immitely counted those out and forgot about them. Until I was at H&M purchasing this sweater, and spotted these! Now I can't say they're the best quality, they're $20, but they'll defintely make it through the summer! Plus they look so good with white jeans.

Shop | $108

4. I talked about this sweatshirt on Instagram stories a few weeks ago but I really do love it. It's the softest piece of clothing I own and I honestly would wear it to class everyday if that wasn't weird lol. It would be so perfect to through on after a workout or just for casual errands. If you're on the fence about it, trust me, you'll love it.

Shop | $128

5. Tell me these aren't the cutest flats you've ever seen. It was love at first sight. While they are just as cute as in person they aren't the most comfortable in the world. I'm a big fan of super comfortable flats, as I do a lot of walking to class, but I still love them no matter.

Shop | $178

6. My white jeans get a lot of wear in the Spring. I've had the same two pairs for probably 3 years now. I love my regular AG jeans and they're the only brand that fits me without having to get them hemmed. This pair of the white jeans totally reaffirmed my love for AG jeans. They are extremely soft and stretchy and I just love them.

To see what else is still on my wishlist, head to this Pinterest board where I keep everything I have my eye on! Can we talk about how perfect this bathing suit is?!

Little Love Letters

Little Love Letters

So I know during the school year it's pretty common to just feel like you're in constant state of exhaustion but man, I feel like I've been running nonstop since January. That being said, I am more than ready for summer. However, my quarter doesn't end until May 31st so I still have a fair amount of time ahead of me.

On top of my demanding class load this quarter, I am also planning and presenting my final project proposal to a board of professors in just a few weeks. This final project encompasses everything I've learned over the past few quarters and will ultimately decide if I graduate (talk about pressure!). I won't actually finish up my final project until the end of the Fall quarter in November but this is the first step of the whole graduation process!

It's exciting and overwhelming all at the same time. While it's crazy to think that I'm already starting to think about my final project for my masters degree, I am totally ready to get started on it. I'll also feel a huge sigh of relief when this proposal presentation is done in a few weeks.

Until then, it's a rotation of homework, research, group project meetings, class, working on planners (!!!), and hopefully finding the time to write some blog posts!

I've seen a few bloggers write these cute, short, little love letters to the silly things in life you appreciate on a day to day basis and I thought it would make for a fun, and different blog post.

Dear Publix Sprinkle Cookies,

Thank you for always being the best dessert and staying
fresh for so long. You never fail to make my day
colorful and sweet.

Sincerely, Sweet Tooth

Dear stupid TLC Reality Shows,

Thank you for always keeping me company during
dinner. You never fail to entertain me and take my
mind off everything else on my to-do list. Plus I am
extra glad Nate and Jeremiah and Trading Spaces
are back.

xoxo, Long Time Fan

Dear Adam Rippon,

Thank you for always making me laugh. Watching
your interviews and reading your tweets always
ensures a giggle. My favorite would have to include
this video, this one, and can't forget this one.

Love, Olympic addict

Dear Summer 2018,

Some exciting adventures await.

xx, Girl in need of some sun

Dear Kate Middleton,

I simply cannot wait to see the breaking news
push notification pop up on my phone
when you have your baby. I'm beyond excited
and I'm definitely hoping for a girl. The
countdown is on.

Love, Royal Obsessed

I'm going to keep today's post rather short as I'm running out the door to class!...whoops.

I wanted to thank everyone for all their sweet comments and Instagram messages on Wednesday's post! I'm so excited about everything and can't wait to share more of the details with you all soon. So keep checking back for more updates!

There are a few things that were on my radar this week though that I wanted to share with you all!

1. I still haven't watched the final Fixer Upper episode because I'm in denial it's ending, but I loved reading Jo's blog post all about their life lately.
2. Although the Target x Hunter collection hasn't been released yet, you can see everything on the website! So excited.
3. Did you see my big news this week?
4. So obsessed with this new collection.
5. I think I need this shirt dress for summer.
6. Also...just in case you are wondering...we now 6 weeks from the royal wedding...and I can't WAIT.

Introducing...Prep Avenue Planners!

Introducing...Prep Avenue Planners!

I can't believe I'm finally getting to write this post and hit publish! It's been a long time in the making and I am ecstatic to finally share it with you all. To better understand it all let me take you back to 2016.

As an over-organized, and overwhelmed college junior I was attempting to balance a social life, rigorous academics, and too many extracurriculars to count. I had just accepted the position of Panhellenic president, was giving campus tours, on the student conduct board, as well as an active member of a sorority. Long story short, my planner was just cutting it anymore. I couldn't keep track of all my meetings, homework, and social activities and before I knew it important things were ending up in the margins of pages. My planner pages were complete chaos, leaving me feeling overwhelmed and the opposite of organized.

I knew I had to change something for my senior year. Fast forward to the summer between my junior and senior year. I was interning in New York City at a fashion pr firm and living in a teeny tiny dorm room. I was determined to find a solution to my problem. With my background in graphic design (and some YouTube videos) I used multiple Adobe programs and my evenings to design my own planner. I did it purely for my own use and had it finished by the time I got home in August. Determined to have it printed in time for the school year, I called dozens of local printing businesses and finally found one that could print it for me!

Fast forward to today and now I want to bring that planner to all of you (well a prettier version)! I felt like there weren't any planners on the market designed specifically with the needs of a student in mind. There were beautifully designed planners for moms, wedding planners, business owners, but now my goal is to make one for students!!

THE EVEN MORE EXCITING PART?! When I decided to really go for this idea this past summer I felt confident I could design all the layouts and pages on the inside of the planner but I felt like it still needed something more exciting. I reached out to my friend, fellow Furman alum, and amazing artist Evelyn Henson to see if she wanted to help me with the project by including her artwork in the planner, and she said yes!!

The planners will be available later in the Spring/ early Summer but:
1. I couldn't keep the secret any longer
2. Evelyn and I really couldn't decide which covers we liked the best and needed to hear your opinions on what you all liked!!

I know I have a lot of high school and college-aged girls following me so I thought who better to ask since you all are my target audience! Below are the 8 covers I've narrowed it down to so far. I am going to put them on my instagram stories later today to get more advice but if you're reading this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE (I cannot beg you more) comment on this post with the numbers of your top favs! I think I'll probably narrow it down to three and I want your opinion!

*Also keep in mind these are just mock-ups, not actually the final covers. Right now I'm just focused on narrowing down the top patterns!*

I can't wait to share lots more details soon. If you keep up with my Instagram story I actually showed the planner I had printed for this school year a few months ago and how I laid it all out! But check out my Instagram story today to vote on through those!

So excited to hear all of your thoughts.

Podcasts I'm Loving

Podcasts I'm Loving

I've never been a big fan of road trips. I love driving short distances but after so many hours I get bored and restless. I love the idea of road trips, blasting music, windows down, singing at the top of your lungs...but the reality is usually far from that.

Despite my dislike for long car rides, it hasn't stopped me much within the past year to rack up the miles on my car. Before taking my car in for its regular service last week, I glanced down and realized I had put just about 15,000 miles on my car since last June. I knew I had driven a lot, but I had no idea it was that much!

I guess between having my family 4 1/2- 5 hours away and my boyfriend 2 1/2 hours away the miles have really added up. Luckily within the past year, I've really got into podcasts. It's funny now because my whole outlook on road trips have changed. I now save up all fun podcasts I find and listen to them on my drives. They really do make time go by so much faster.

With summer around the corner and lots of road trips in everyone's future I thought it would be fun to talk about a few of my favorites so you can add them to your list! I listen them through the apple Podcasts app (that comes right on your Iphone!) but you can also listen to them online so if you need something to listen to as you clean your room or do housework, podcasts are perfect for that!

1. How I Built This

How I built this is probably my favorite all around podcast. It interviews well-known entrepreneurs from a wide variety of industries (but lots of fashion related ones!). I really didn't think I would like it as much as I did! Every time I finish an episode I leave inspired and ready to start my own company.

Some of my favorite episodes: Spanx: Sara Blakely, Kate Spade: Kate & Andy Spade, Kendra Scott, Drybar, Zappos, Framebridge, Patagonia, Bumble, The Knot, Warby Parker, Dyson, Ben & Jerry's, Crate & Barrel

In my queue: Stitch Fix: Katrina Lake, Atari & Chuck E. Cheese's: Nolan Bushnell, Instagram

2. Planet Money

Planet Money actually advertised for one of their big episodes on How I Built This and I decided I'd give it a try. Let me say, I am the farthest thing from a money person so don't think you have to be super interested in finances to love the show. What I love about Planet Money is that the episodes are quick (like 20 minutes), and all on super fun topics. Don't knock it until you try it.

Some of my favorite episodes: Bagging the Bikkin, The Shortest Super Bowl, The M&M Anomaly, Walmart's Pickle, The Hotel at the Center of the World, North Korea's Capitalists

In my queue: The Lollipop War, The Secret Document That Transformed China, How To Make It In The Music Business, This Ad's For You

3. Dressed: The History of Fashion

Every episode of Dressed explores the exciting and complex history behind a particular garment or person that made a lasting impact on the fashion industry. If you love fashion or fashion history then you'll find it interesting!

Some of my favorite episodes: Branded: A History of Designer Logos and Founding Father of Haute Couture: Charles Federick Worth

In my queue: Smuggled in the Bustle, Elizabeth Hawes: Fashion Rebel

4. Boss Files with Poppy Harlow

Boss Files is another podcasts that interviews with impressive business leaders and founders. I love hearing the stories behind the companies and how they grew their business into what it is today. I just recently discovered this podcast but I can't wait to listen to more of these episodes!

Some of my favorite episodes: Diane von Furstenberg, Bobbi Brown, Spanx Founder Sara Blakely, Tory Burch, Birchbox CEO

In my queue: Glossier's Emily Weiss, Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey, Jessica Alba, Rebecca Minkoff, Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank

5. Armchair Expert

This podcast, relatively new,  is hosted by the hilarious Dax Sheppard as he interviews some of the biggest names in  Hollywood.

Some of my favorite episodes: Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Kimmel

In my queue: Ashton Kutcher, Kristen Bell, Zach Braff

How I Organize My Classes

How I Organize My Classes

I think I was born an organization freak. I remember vividly during my elementary school years checking my backpack 10 times every morning to ensure that every piece of homework was in the correct folder. I would pack my backpack the night before and then check it again (just in case something jumped out of my bag while I was sleeping) before I went to school.

Excessive and unnecessary? Absolutely.

Honestly not much has changed. I still get so anxious if I lose one piece of paper and that's why I am so OCD about my school organization. In high school, I had a very detailed organization system. I had a specific colored binder for every class with folders labeled on the inside.

In college, it didn't take me long to realize a full binder for every class wasn't necessary. Typically in my college classes, we had far less handouts, worksheets, and random pieces of paper to keep track. So when it came to school supplies I really just needed a place to write notes and keep some random readings and the class syllabus.

So after stalking Staples for the right kind of notebook, I found these Acell notebooks freshman year that I've been using ever since. Let me tell you why I like them:

1. The covers are plastic so they don't rip in the middle of the school year
2. The spine guard makes it soooo much easier to slip the notebooks in and out of your backpack without the spirals getting stuck on other notebooks
3. They're college ruled
4. They have plastic folders inside that you can pop in and out and a pocket inside the front cover

Since I've been using them for a while now, after the end of the semester I empty out the folders that came inside and resuse them the next semester! The folders pop in and out really easy and are pretty sturdy since they're plastic.

Shop the notebooks here and here!

Although they're not full binders, they still have folders and pockets where I can keep a smaller number of handouts and then a dedicated space for me to take notes. And I can add even more folders if I need them!

I hope this all makes sense. This is just how I organize my school stuff and although it probably won't work for everyone I just thought I would share in case anyone needs some advice! I also will be explaining all this on insta stories later today too! So be sure to watch over on insta :)
